Probability

The word probable is derived from the Latin word probables. It is also evident that,
probability is the likelihood or chance that something will probably happen or probably not happen. Technically probability theory is used extensively in areas such as statistics and mathematics. Explaining technically, probability of a sure event equals 1 while the probability of an impossible event equals zero. But if u had noticed, probability plays a vital role in our daily lives too. God forbid, even we being alive the next moment is a probable, sometimes we may call it a faith or a belief. But actually it’s a probable.

Two major applications of probability theory in everyday life are in risk assessment and in trade on commodity markets. Governments typically apply probabilistic methods in environmental regulation where it is called "pathway analysis", often measuring well-being using methods that are stochastic in nature, and choosing projects to undertake based on statistical analyzes of their probable effect on the population as a whole. It is not correct to say that statistics are involved in the modeling itself, as typically the assessments of risk are one-time and thus require more fundamental probability models, example, "the probability of another 9/11". A law of small numbers tends to apply to all such choices and perception of the effect of such choices, which makes probability, measures a political matter.

A good example is the effect of the perceived probability of any widespread Middle East conflict on oil prices - which have ripple effects in the economy as a whole. An assessment by a commodity trader that a war is more likely versus less likely, sends prices up or down, and signals other traders of that opinion. Accordingly, the probabilities are not assessed independently nor necessarily very rationally. The theory of behavioral finance emerged to describe the effect of such group think on pricing, on policy, and on peace and conflict.

It can reasonably be said that the discovery of rigorous methods to assess and combine probability assessments has had a profound effect on modern society. Accordingly, it may be of some importance to most citizens to understand how odds and probability assessments are made, and how they contribute to reputations and to decisions, especially in a democracy. Another significant application of probability theory in everyday life is reliability. Many consumer products, such as automobiles and consumer electronics, utilize reliability theory in the design of the product in order to reduce the probability of failure. The probability of failure is also closely associated with the product's warranty.

If u had noticed probable, probability are couple of very interesting and the most commonly used words. Lot of things are cob webbed around this word. For example,
the weather report is a probable, we planning something and for it to be a success is a probable, who knows one could even be the CM of tamil nadu that’s also a probable..:)
And if u happen to go deep inside mathematics, u will find probability even more interesting. One of the best fields in mathematics.

The metal Au

Aurum, the Latin name for gold meaning the shining dawn and its atomic number is 79. The yellow diamond, more precious and valuable and the craze for gold in jewelry or as an investment as always had its own place in the market, even though it costs less than the diamond. Among all the metals on earth there is only one that stays forever shiny and never grows old. Gold, the mellow yellow color of it intrigues us, amazes us, and leaves us wanting more. The word "gold" is actually derived from the old English word for yellow, "geolu". Any idea why is gold yellow in color?? Gold is yellow because of its cubic close packed atomic structure, which has the quality of reflecting red light at 800 angstroms.

Gold comes from deep within the earth. It is deposited in the earth's crust in mineralized hydrothermal veins. Silica, known as quartz, is the primary host rock for gold. As metallic laden silicate waters push toward the surface in the roots of volcanoes and deep faults, gold and other metals precipitate into deposits. This is an on going event of Mother Nature. Even as you read this, gold deposits are being formed on the sea floor, in volcanic vents off the coast of New Zealand. Gold is the most malleable and ductile metal. A single gram can be beaten into a sheet of one square meter, or an ounce into 300 square feet. Gold leaf can be beaten thin enough to become translucent. The transmitted light appears greenish blue, because gold strongly reflects yellow and red.

As said gold’s superior electrical conductivity, malleability, and resistance to corrosion have made it vital to the manufacture of components used in a wide range of electronic products and equipment, including computers, telephones, cellular phones, and home appliances. Gold has extraordinarily high reflective powers that are relied upon in the shielding that protects spacecrafts and satellites from solar radiation and in industrial and medical lasers that use gold-coated reflectors to focus light energy. And because gold is biologically inactive, it has become a vital tool for medical research and is even used in the direct treatment of arthritis and other intractable diseases.

The demand for gold in industry is steady and growing. The supply of gold from stored inventory and from mining operations is limited and will remain so. Demand from investors who want to posses this precious metal is steady, and increases during periods of world crises or instability. The result is a market with much more upside potential than down. Gold is an excellent hedge against inflation, and protects earnings for the future. Modern investors can invest in gold the traditional way — by purchasing gold in the form of bars or coins — or they can trade in gold or gold futures electronically, or by investing in gold mining or refining companies. Gold is considered to be one of the finest investment and a never decreasing in its value. Gold- a truly valued metal and rush behind such a metal is a never ending scenario.

Healthy relationships

Much has changed in the dating scene in the last few decades. There were days when love marriages were strongly disapproved by 90 percent of the people and now the disapproval has dropped drastically. In this very generation, teens are quick and aggressive in their decision, be it proposing, falling in love, breaking up the relation and finally hunting for the next one. I feel the essence of a divine relationship is lost though definitely not in al cases, but then a few. These few make a difference in the society and these few matters a lot.

If you look at the facts, more than 75 percent of all adolescents of both the sexes would have had at least one date. Now days, many are into the dating relationships by the end of high school because one thinks romance is way out in their stressful life and is also become a trend having a boyfriend or a girlfriend. Also researches indicate that dating styles differ accordingly. In early adolescence, dating is considered to be mixed group activities like meeting in a mall, movie theatres, or a dinner at restaurants. Whereas by mid adolescence, a group of well established people go out and finally the late adolescence, couples may seek intimate evenings out. The point I wish to high light here is that, teenagers should wait until the late adolescence before becoming seriously involved, because they are then adjusted more comfortably than the former.

The word adjusting is of great importance in relationships. Relationship is the one where two different set of people come together in life. So there are obvious situations where difference of opinion being raised. In such a case, its better to just give our own opinion and do not oblige on your opinion and if you sense the conversation is getting a little too adverse, stop right there. It‘s just not advised to proceed further as things mite go out of reach of your hands because fighting to win gets you nowhere. And if u feel things are already out of reach, pleasing words or a “sorry!” would definitely get things right back on track. Now the problem is, asking a sorry. People don’t realize the value of the word sorry. Many relationship problems could be solved, if they talk and confess. What’s wrong in asking a sorry, when u think u made a mistake?? Healthy relationships can admit mistakes giving up their ego, after al your sweetheart.

It’s usually said that, in relationships things are really sweet in the first few months, and then gradually they change. I would definitely like to note that, change of things is common in relationships but not the love for each other. Accepting changes shows the understanding level of each other. Instead of complaining, it sounds great to accept changes with thorough understanding. Also it shows the level of maturity. No one can be everything we might want him or her to be. Sometimes people disappoint us. It’s not all-or-nothing, though. Healthy relationships mean accepting people as they are and not trying to change them. Love them for what they are and not for how you want them to be because you proposed to them for what they are.

Healthy relationships are between winners who seek answers to problems together. If there’s anything you feel is not fine, best counter is to come together, communicate, talk. It definitely can not be one-way traffic. Both need to take the initiative at some point. And when you deal with problem, attack the problem and not the other person. Open sensitive conversations with "I" statements, talk about how you struggle with the problem. Don’t open with "you" statements. Avoid blaming the other person for your thoughts and feelings. Healthy relationships don’t blame.

In a healthy relationship, you feel good about yourself when you are around that person and healthy peer relationships involve an equal amount of give and take in the relationship and you should feel safe around the other person and feel that you can trust him/her with your secrets. Trust is very important in a relationship. If you fail to trust the person, it’s better to step down as such a relationship leads to an unhealthy one. Finally to make a point, when you decide to go in for a relationship, make sure that you don’t re think your decision and when you decide to step down from a relationship, think twice, look through the issue because deep in your heart you might not be able to live without them. Never switch relationships. That’s why everyone requests us to think in depth before getting committed. My best wishes to everyone for a healthy long term relationship!
